There has been a lot of talk about whether Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton might be part of a Barack Obama administration. Those rumors picked up steam when Bratton did some robo-call campaigning for Obama before the election. Bratton told City News Service in Los Angeles that he’s not going to Washington.”That is not something I am seeking, it's not something I have been approached about,” Bratton said. “No reason to leave Los Angeles – they pay me very well.”
With a Democrat in the White House, Bratton said he expects more resources and attention to be paid to local policing efforts. One post Bratton has been rumored to be considered for is Homeland Security secretary. Before the election, Bratton warned of a possible attack orchestrated by Osama bin Laden intended to steer voters toward Senator John McCain, but no such attack materialized.
