Lawyers pressing the state of Missouri for details about the team taking part in executions would accept anonymous depositions, keeping the names out of court filings, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch says in a correction. The newspaper said it incorrectly characterized the lawyers’ motion in a story that was reported yesterday by Crime & Justice News.
The Associated Press corrected its own story on the case. AP says lawyers for death row inmates “argue they should be allowed to depose execution team members to explore their competence but that the identities of the execution team members would be protected.”
