A man charged with raping a woman in northwest Houston in late May is being questioned as a suspect in a string of murders in the Acres Homes area, reports the Houston Chronicle. Police arrested Bilford Dwight Junious, 35, about 11 p.m. Friday. Charged with aggravated assault, he is being held in the Harris County Jail in lieu of $120,000 bond.
Investigators are reviewing evidence to determine if Junious is connected to other sexual assaults in the area or the murders of at least six women – first reported in January – whose bodies were found along roads, in fields and hidden behind buildings in and around the Acres Homes area. According to the criminal complaint, the May 31 sexual assault occurred less than a mile from the locations where three of the murdered women were discovered. Junious matches the description of the serial murder suspect released by police – including the tattoo of a set of scales on his arm.
