Arrest Made in Shooting of Philadelphia Gang Witness

On Feb. 3, Tyreese Gaymon-Allen, 23, was was shot to death not far from the place in Philadelphia where his cousin had been gunned down more than a year earlier, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Police believe Gaymon-Allen died because he cooperated with investigators and identified the man suspected of killing his cousin.

This week, Donte L. Thomas, 29, of North Philadelphia was arrested and charged with murder, conspiracy, firearms violations and related offenses. Authorities told the paper that Thomas – whose record includes arrests for drugs, assault and robbery -killed Gaymon-Allen as a favor to the man who has been accused of killing Gaymon-Allen’s cousin.
