Defense Lawyer in CA Terror Case is Effective Rookie

A key defense attorney in the trial of two men from California’s Central Valley who are accused of ties to terrorists is a young woman three years out of law school who has a large personal stake in the ultimate verdict, the Sacramento Bee reports.

She is Wazhma Mojaddidi, an Afghani immigrant, and whether she wins or loses the case could influence perceptions of the seven million Muslims who live in the U.S., according to Basim Elkara, director of the Sacramento Valley chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
