Hugo Selenski, 32, an ex-convict who was cleared of two murders earlier this week, was charged with two other slayings within hours of his acquittal, according to the Wilkes-Barre Citizen’s Voice. The new charges accuse Selenski of killing two people whose bodies were among five found buried near Selenski’s house in 2003.
Earlier this week, a jury acquitted Selenski of killing one of the five victims and deadlocked on a second, after which the judge declared a mistrial and said Selenski could not be retried for the second slaying. Selenski had faced the death penalty had he been convicted of first-degree murder in the first two deaths.
