This week saw the arrests of several former Southern California law enforcement officers in connection with a string of violent armed robberies, The Los Angeles Times reports.
The alleged ring — which included a California prison guard and former police officers from Los Angeles and Long Beach — committed more than 20 robberies and burglaries in Los Angeles and neighboring communities over a span of 2 1/2 years, the paper said. The latest arrests bring the total number charged in the case to 19, with three suspects still at large.
