Conservative Judge: Take Hoover Name Off FBI Building

Conservative federal appellate judge Laurence Silberman would like to remove J. Edgar Hoover ‘s name from FBI headquarters, reports U.S. News & World Report. Silberman made the suggestion to the Pumpkin Papers Irregulars, a group loosely named for a prop in the Alger Hiss spy case.

Silberman reportedly said that he is appalled by Hoover’s ethical and legal violations he found. The magazine gave no indication why the judge was raising this issue more than 30 years after Hoover died.
