DNA Hit in ’92 Rape Brings Victim Trauma, Relief

A woman raped by a stranger at knifepoint in college struggled for years to deal with the aftermath of the brutal attack. She eventually fell in love, married and had a son.

In the Greensboro-News Record, the woman, who is now 32, describes how a DNA database hit, which came after a detective she’d never met reopened the investigation into her attack, dredged up long-buried feelings and led to her facing her attacker in court, where he was convicted.
