San Francisco police are investigating former Police Chief Alex Fagan Sr. for his role in a drunken brawl in which his son allegedly assaulted a Scottsdale, Ariz., hotel manager last week, says the San Francisco Chronicle.

An apparently drunk Fagan Sr., 53, kept insisting he was a former police chief while refusing to heed officers. The fracas in Arizona is the latest in a series of incidents involving the former chief and his son, who were at the center of a 2002, case involving three off-duty police officers who allegedly beat two men over a bag of fajitas in San Francisco.

In the Arizona incident, one officer reported that Fagan Sr. came up as she held a belligerent Fagan Jr. “Hey, I’m the chief of police, I can tell you what happened. This is just a misunderstanding, really,” Fagan Sr. said.
