Pop music star Michael Jackson is expected to surrender on another child molestation charge. Jackson, 45, was prepared to turn himself in after finishing a music video in Las Vegas, reported the Los Angeles Times. Jackson, who denies wrongdoing, must meet a $3 million bail.
A lawyer for the Jackson family said the case stems from a 12-year-old boy’s charges of molestation during visits to Jackson’s Neverland Ranch ranch near Santa Barbara, Ca. The Times says the investigation centers on the boy’s allegations that Jackson served him wine before molesting several times last winter.
Prosecutor Thomas Sneddon said that unlike a similar Jackson case a decade ago, law enforcement officials now have a cooperative victim. Each count of child molestation is punishable by up to eight years in prison.
Investigators searched the 2,600 ranch property Tueday for nearly 15 hours.
