Steve Hallock and Sharon Kimmel, next-door neighbors for six years near San Diego, appear to hate each other’s guts.

Hallock has called the police and code enforcement officers dozens of times complaining about such things as Kimmel’s wind chimes being too loud and her failing to pick up her dog’s droppings.

Kimmel says Hallock is an overbearing busybody who tries to control everything and everybody’s behavior in the neighborhood and that he is wasting the taxpayers’ money with his complaints and a lawsuit.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the bad blood has spilled out this week before a Superior Court jury that toured the properties Tuesday. Hallock is suing Kimmel, claiming her behavior is much like a hate crime and has exacerbated his AIDS.

“It’s like living next door to a live episode of the ‘Jerry Springer Show,’ ” Hallock has said.
